15 Months

So Marshall turned 15 months yesterday. He's so much fun and so full of energy...wears me out watching him. :) He started walking a little over a month ago, we never thought it would happen but I kept saying he's not going to until he has mastered it and I think I was right. Once he started, he was so quick and just kept going. He is such a happy little guy. We will take him for his 15 month checkup next Friday so I won't have stats until then but the last time we took him - about 2 weeks ago, he weighed 23 pounds.

About the little guy:
-Wears size 4 diapers - been in those for forever
-Chases our dogs around the house and just giggles at them
-Loves to be tickled (I promise he comes running to me for more)
-Wears size 5 wide shoes
-His clothes sizes vary but between 18 months and 24 months
-Will pretty much eat anything that you give him and loves fruit!
-He will wave bye-bye to you sometimes
-Will pick up the phone and say "hey"
-He says quite a few words and can repeat a lot of words that you say to him
-Will dance to just about anything
-Pretty nosey little kid and I just don't know where he got it from :)
-Still a spitting image of his daddy (he did get my eyes) but is starting to act just like me
-He got his first haircut a week ago and loved it!
-Loves going to Preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays...just walks on in his classroom and starts playing.

He brings such joy to our lives and can't wait to see what he will do next! We love you little man!

August = Busy

So August has become our busiest month. It's the month with tons of birthdays (and we might be adding 2 more if Dana's and Brooke's babies come early). We have my brother-in-law, my hubby, my grandmother, my dad and now my little guy! We also have baby showers this month on top of a friend's daughters birthday that we just celebrated last weekend. Needless to say, we are busy every weekend with something. I promise I will post some vaca pics as soon as I have a free moment. I just thought I would post and provide updates on the family. So both of my sister-in-laws are pregnant - due date of Sept. 6 and Sept. 18th. Now both SILs are on bedrest. They are both o.k. but this is precautionary. And both have their nurseries set if the babies do come early so they are in pretty good shape. I am busy planning Marshall's first birthday party - it seems so weird to say that. I'm excited but also I get a little sad thinking about it. It seems just like yesterday that he was just born. Time really does fly by!!! He is a big time crawler now into everything. We have blockers everywhere to keep him out of harm's way. The kitchen cabinets have been baby-proofed and we are working on other areas. His big thing is taking off the door stoppers throughout the house. So when he takes one off, I put it up and leave it off b/c that has become a never-ending battle. Earlier this week, he stood by himself not holding on to anything. He cruises along furniture so he may walk soon - we'll see. He loves playing with the dogs and they are both very good with him! He starts preschool/MDO later this month for 2 days a week at our Church, Hope Pres. He loves going to the nursery on Sunday mornings so I think he will love ti! He is such a joy to be around and so much fun. We feel very lucky to have such a great little boy!

Memorial Day 2010

We had a busy Memorial Day weekend. We had a birthday party on Saturday night at the Reeds. We went to our friends' house on Sunday night to cook out. At both houses, they have swings that Marshall could swing in. He loved it! I think he would have stayed in there all night so now I am of course thinking, can we get one for our house!?! Then my sister-in-law had a party at her house on Monday. My mother-in-law got him a little pool and he loved that as well! He loves taking baths so I was glad that his love of water continued on to a pool because we plan on going swimming a lot this summer!

9 Month Check Up

I took Marshall in for his 9 month checkup on Thursday. He is doing very well and growing up so fast. Travis couldn't go with us this time and of course this was the first time we had to wait. He was getting so irritable and tired by the time the doctor came in, he had just fallen asleep. And he had to get a shot because he had a flu shot last time so they held off on one.

Weight: 22 pounds 3 ounces - 75%

Height: 29 1/2 inches - 90% (he has grown 8 inches since he was born)

I can't believe how big he is now. The pictures below are from last Sunday. We were all getting ready for Church so he was on our bed playing while I was in there getting ready. I turned around and he had layed down and fell asleep without any rocking. It was so cute!

9 months

So my little boy will be 9 months old tomorrow...WOW!!! It has been a quick 9 months and he has grown so much and has the little personality...you can definitely see Travis and I in him. He loves to play and sit up. Every morning when he wakes up, he is sitting up in his crib just talking. He is such a big boy now and can't believe how fast he is growing. He doesn't like to take naps or sleep at all. I think he would stay awake all the time if we let him. He loves our dogs and giggles at them and loves to pet them. He is a big laugher! I think he gets that from the both of us. :) We take him in for his 9 month checkup next week. Last time I took him was about 3 weeks ago and he was 21 pounds and 28 inches long so we'll see how much he has grown in the past month.

More Easter pics

Easter Weekend

We had a good weekend but busy and very tiring. Looking forward to just hanging out this weekend and taking it easy. Also this weekend, Marshall has started rolling over on to his belly from his back. He has been rolling from his belly to his back but has started doing the other way now. We have found him in his crib in the morning on his belly twice since Friday. Last night he did some scooting on his belly. Everything happens so quickly. We also received some good news today - he got in to Hope Pres' (our Church) preschool starting the last week of August. He will be in the 1 year class. It is 2 days a week from 9:30 - 2:30. I think this is going to be so good for him to be around other kids.

6 Months

Marshall turned 6 MONTHS last Sunday, February 21st. I can't believe it. He is doing so much now. He sits up on his own all the time and loves it! He can pull up from laying back some and is working on it all the time. He smiles all the time and giggles too. I don't really know of any time when he is just unhappy. He gets a little fussy when he is getting hungry and tired but that is about it. He is still teething but hasn't cut one yet. We took him on Wednesday for his 6 month checkup and he is doing great. The doctor checked him and the RSV is officially gone and he is very healthy.

6 month stats:

Weight: 19 pounds, 4 ounces 80 percentile

Height: 26 1/2 inches long 75 percentile

Head: 43 cm 45 percentile

Diapers: Size 3

Shoe size: 3 wide so we bought 4

Clothes: 6-9 months for now but changing quickly

He is now eating fruits and vegetables mainly stage 1 but we have been doing some stage 2 now - not giving all at one time but trying different things. He loves sweet potatoes, carrots and squash in the veggie group (not green beans or peas but we got some mixed vegetables baby food and it had peas in it and he ate it up). He has liked all the fruits - bananas, pears, applesauce, peaches, and mango. We have tried some mixed fruits too and loves them! He is now sitting in his high chair all the time. When we go shopping, he is in the shopping cart like a big boy. He does something new every day and changing so much! Can't believe it's been 6 months already!

In a jumper that Paxton let him borrow - he loves to be moving

In the shopping cart in Target...he loved just being able to look around

In the big bathtub sitting in an inflatable duck until he can sit really good in the bath tub...loves taking baths...thank you to the Burnetts for letting us borrow this too

Valentine's Day Weekend

I don't have any pictures...I know I know. I should have taken some but we basically rushed around all weekend. My parents kept Marshall for a few hours on Friday night so Travis and I could go out to dinner by ourselves to Texas de Brazil for Valentine's Day. It has been a long time since we have done that mainly because I hate to leave Marshall since I have to all week for work. It was good for us to get out for a little bit. Saturday, we drove down to Mississippi to watch Hunter play basketball. It was good to go see Justin, Brooke & Hunter and just be able to hang out for a little while. We watched the Olympics and then came home. We finally made it back to Church on Sunday - it's been a while since we have been b/c of the weather/sicknesses. Aydin was there too so we went out to lunch with the parents, Jay & Dana, and Aydin. Aydin made Marshall a Valentine's card - it was so sweet. She gave it to him and he just held it there. Then Aydin had Valentine's Day cards for Marshall, me, my parents and her dada. We then went to the Burnett's to hang out and went out to dinner. Paxton is getting so big and doing so much that I can just see how quick he has changed and know that Marshall is on the same track. It was good to see them and get some "insight" on what is to come. We are hoping they will be in the same preschool class at Hope starting in August or September. We shall see. All in all it was a good weekend and Marshall is doing much better now and will be 6 months on Sunday. Time does fly! He is sitting up on his own now so it's hard to keep him still. I will try to post some recent pictures in the next few days.

More Pictures from our snow day

Update

So...I haven't posted a blog in a while but it's been a crazy few weeks. Marshall has grown so much. Last week, we found out he has RSV which is a virus that is very contagious. We have been giving him breathing treatments since last Monday which is basically the only thing we can do to help. His breathing was very labored when we got him to the doctor last Monday. He hasn't really felt bad that we can tell but he coughs a lot and that can last for a while. He also rolled over for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We are at home today for a snow day - we had about 3 inches by the time we woke up and it was beautiful. We put him in his high chair for the first time today and he loved it! That's all for now. I will try to be better about posting blogs but sometimes my nights are just a little crazy!

First Feeding

We fed Marshall cereal out of a spoon for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It is definitely a challenge teaching babies how to eat off a spoon. Just another thing for both of us to learn. It was pretty funny. Now he laughs when I feed him cereal at night. It's a good time for both of us. He is not eating a lot of it but I know he is getting some of it. He gets better every night! These are a few pics from the first feeding.

So stinking cute!!

This is what his face looked like during most of it...

I think he kind of likes it...
